(SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J., 1/20/17) – On Saturday, January 21, representatives of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest American Muslim civil rights organization, will join thousands of others for the Women’s March on Washington, both in the nation’s capital and at parallel events across the country.

CAIR-New Jersey Chairwoman Nadia Kahf will be among the speakers at the rally in Trenton, N.J.

CAIR New Jersey is a sponsor of the Women’s March on New Jersey which will take place at the Trenton War Memorial in Trenton, New Jersey at 10 a.m. Marchers will rally in solidarity with marchers in Washington, D.C., at the Women’s March on Washington and at the over 170 sister marches being held across the United States and the world.

“It’s important that women from all corners of New Jersey have their voices heard,” said CAIR-NJ Chairwoman Nadia Kahf. “This march will serve as a reminder to our elected officials that they are responsible for the well-being of all of the citizens they represent, regardless of whether they share the same faith, gender or national heritage.”

CAIR is largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
