CAIR-NJ to Join AMP-NJ and Coalition Partners in Support of Jersey City Ceasefire Resolution
(NEWARK, NJ, 12/05/2023) – On Wednesday, Dec. 6, the New Jersey chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NJ) will join the American Muslims for Palestine’s New Jersey Chapter, Jewish Voices for Peace New Jersey chapter, and the Democratic Socialists of America New Jersey chapter at a press conference calling on Jersey City officials to vote for a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Palestine.

Jersey City Heights Councilman Yousef Saleh presented a resolution last week calling on President Joe Biden to demand a permanent ceasefire in Palestine.
The resolution was pulled from the agenda last week and will be voted on at a special meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 4p.m.
The Palestinian death toll in Gaza is nearing 16,000. The overwhelming majority of casualties are civilians. At the same time, Israel has doubled the number of Palestinian prisoners in the West Bank.
Together, CAIR-NJ, AMP-NJ, and coalition partners continue to stand in unwavering solidarity with Palestinians and their right to freedom.
