(South Plainfield, NJ 07/08/2019) – The New Jersey Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations  (CAIR-NJ), the state’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, announced today its opposition to the falsely titled “Prohibits anti-Semitism in public schools and institutions of higher education.,” [S. 4001] which incorrectly conflates legitimate First Amendment protected discussion on American campuses about Israel’s human rights abuses against Palestinians with the vile bigotry of anti-Semitism.

CAIR-NJ Action Alert: CAIR Asks NJ Governor Phil Murphy to Cancel Trip to India Over Kashmir Crisis

Thank you for taking the initiative to learn more about this critical campaign. Since the beginning of 2016, our community is experiencing a significant increase in religious-based discrimination, hate crimes and bullying in schools. Since the elections, the attacks on our community have increased many fold. CAIR, nationwide has been overwhelmed, dealing with hundreds of cases. In New Jersey alone, CAIR-NJ has received more incidents in the last 4 weeks than in the previous 4 months.
